Videographer / Editor

Our work at KERTIS is a balance of thinking & doing. Our creative work is rooted in strategy and executed in-house. Our primary media are documentary & campaign-style video, photography, and design. We do a significant amount of strategic campaign work including brand development and concepting. Our Videgrapher/Editor Intern will help support these efforts.

What does our Videographer/Editor Intern do?

Interns at KERTIS are an integral part of our team. Our internships are fully immersive positions given equal responsibility and opportunity to our staff. That said, these positions are not without support. All of our work at KERTIS is collaborative and created by teams. You will have the opportunity to support our creative team in the creation, development, and continuity of a variety of creative assets.

In the role, you will film and edit diverse projects, working directly with producers and creative directors to make sure that communications are clear, schedules and expectations are met, and the best products get delivered. Our clients have a variety of creative needs, and our creators should understand how to build honest, thoughtful stories through a variety of media.

With the producer, creative director, and account manager, you will brainstorm creative strategies for production, shooting video on location, and edit content into a variety of products.

Skills & Requirements

  • At least one completed year in a related field of study

  • Strong understanding of narrative based visual storytelling

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Suite (Premiere & Photoshop)

  • Understanding of DSLR camera systems (minimum)

  • Experience in lighting, audio tech, and video editing

  • Basic level of proficiency in color correction for video/photography

  • Proven excellence for creative standards

  • Solid interpersonal capabilities along with great verbal, visual, and written communication skills

  • Ability to problem solve and work with a team

  • Flexibility with adaptive schedules

  • Self motivated / Open minded

 

Compensation / Additional Benefits

KERTIS internships are full-time (40hr/wk) paid positions. We offer our interns a paid rate of $650 per week. Start and end dates are flexible.

  • This is a Louisville, KY based position, but we have a hybrid working environment. Although we want our interns to spend as much time in our office as possible, interacting with our teams and your director, there may be days that you work from home or a coffee shop, etc. You and your director will establish a schedule.

  • Paid observed holidays, bonus days

Terms

This is a 3-4 month program starting in late spring and finishing in late summer / early fall.
