We are adding a Account Manager to our team, someone with an innate talent for storytelling and the ability to build content in a creative and compelling way. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits (see below). Contract hires will also be considered.


Who is an Account Manager?

An account manager at KERTIS is an active listener, insatiable curious learner, and strategic problem solver. They are oriented to win, where winning means solving the clients communication challenge through an innovative, well budgeted, and profitable product and project. Our account managers are not required to sell to survive, we are honestly looking for team members who want to create value for our clients and our team equally.

What does an Account Manager do at KERTIS?

Account Managers at KERTIS foster the overall client relationship throughout a project. They typically handle multiple accounts, and serve as the primary point of contact for their clients, learning all they can about a client's needs and personality to inform a project. While client services are their main focus, they sit between our clients and our internal team, and are strong ambassadors for both sides. Their job is to communicate with empathy, tact, diplomacy, answer questions, and make certain clients receive what they asked for as part of our contractual agreement. This requires exemplary responsiveness and thoroughness.

Account Managers initiate the client relationship with KERTIS, working to gain all of the project information and constraints and then present that information to our internal teams in ways that set us up for success. They are able to tailor budgets based on the complexity and urgency of the project. They are able to explain our processes to the client in an open and supportive way. They ensure that projects meet client goals, creative ideas, and KERTIS standards. 

Our Account Managers play a crucial role in client retention as well as potentially bringing in new business as part of an existing client process. A successful candidate in this role will exhibit an energetic passion for working with people and a desire to build long term client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong client relationships by developing and maintaining a deep understanding of clients’ industry, business, and customer needs

  • Build strategic proposals, scope of works, and estimates that meet client budget constraints and our teams capacity & capabilities

  • Actively listen, hear, and understand our clients' communication challenge & propose creative, strategic product solutions

  • Act as high level liaison between the clients you work with & KERTIS team – you are empathetic, diplomatic, attentive, welcoming, and responsive

  • Work closely with the Creative team to maintain client needs, and keep project budgets in scope

  • Represent KERTIS’s approach to strategic and creative vision, coaching clients to understand our process on all projects

  • Attend client meetings and presentations both internally and externally

  • Receive & communicate critical feedback from clients that move the project toward solving their particular communication problem

  • Seek & communicate opportunities for new business development

  • Actively drive projects from conception to completion while maintaining the integrity of the account

Skills & Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience at a creative, advertising, or marketing agency, or similarly related role proven account management skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, outgoing and confident personality to collaborate across partner teams in the agency

  • Demonstrate clear communications skills

  • Creative problem solving & critical thinking

  • Comfortable talking to clients and gaining information for your team 

  • Act with curiosity & empathy first

  • Attention to detail

  • Diplomatic and supportive team member  

  • Flexible thinker and orientation toward problem solving

  • Solid writing and research ability

Salary + Benefits

$50-60k Base Compensation depending on experience / skill level

  • Louisville based position but we have a hybrid working environment
