SEVICHE

PHOTO + VIDEO
Chef Anthony Lamas of Seviche in Louisville, Kentucky has been widely celebrated for his food since the start of his restaurant in 2004. His interpretation of Latin American cuisine has continually evolved and pushed the boundaries of modern preparation in the world of cooking.
Lamas was in the process of revamping his website, visually telling the story of Seviche, and in doing so, tell his story. We stepped in to help.
Adaptability was our greatest asset on this project. We had the luxury of gaining access to the kitchen, an intimate look of every aspect of preparation. But this was a working restaurant. This meant we had to navigate the bustling kitchen, the dining area, and the chef while they were all in action.
Work didn’t pause because we were there. This turned out to be our greatest barrier and our greatest asset, but certainly gave us a real glimpse into restaurant and a culture that Lamas has cultivated through the years.
The focus of the rebrand and website was modernity, so we wanted to honor this intent through photo and video: intentional angles and natural light that would make the space seem approachable but simultaneously elevate the food offerings. Our mission was to create a video that explored Lamas’s inspiration behind his dishes: his heritage, creativity, and passion for cooking.
Through both photo and video, we were able to focus on his cultural influences and childhood to shape the story of his food, what drives Chef Lamas, and what makes Seviche what it is today.
