We are adding a Producer to our team. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
What does a Producer do?
Producers at KERTIS are responsible for shepherding our ideas from origin through execution. They work with our Account Managers, Strategists, Project Managers, and Creative Directors to understand the client ‘ask’ and develop the creative content and goals. This could look like strategic projects, general production projects, and most often, video projects. Producers help determine our approach to the ask and work with the Creative Directors to shape and design our execution process.

Our Producers are inquisitive, resourceful, and confident. They are comfortable seeking the information needed to shape a project, reaching out to our client and their stakeholders to learn, ask questions, research, and use that information to design our creative roadmap. They know how to ask questions that unlock the information we need to be successful and make the client feel confident, heard, and understood. They build and hold relationships and guide our production teams to work collaboratively.

All in all, Producers are skilled multi-taskers, able to keep a watchful eye on all phases of a project to ensure that scope and deadlines are met.

Our work is complex and timelines can shift quickly. This job requires creativity, diplomacy, tenacity, flexibility, and confidence under pressure.

Our work at KERTIS is a balance of thinking & doing. Our creative work is rooted in strategy and executed in-house. Our primary media are documentary & campaign-style video, photography, and design. We do a significant amount of strategic campaign work including brand development and concepting. Producers support all of these efforts. 
Day to Day
No day is exactly the same, but a Producer’s day will primarily consist of client communication, scheduling, reviewing current schedules, troubleshooting, developing creative content through research and brainstorming, and updating teams on current and upcoming projects.

Producers have a diverse book of projects to shepherd, but primarily work in film production and are skilled storytellers. They research and vet possible story characters, research and write thoughtful interview questions, and conduct interviews on location. They provide a critical element to the creative process and work with the Creative Director to align vision and approach to interviews and building the story.

Producers have a clear vision and understanding of every project that they are responsible for. They meet regularly with the Creative Director to update them on project milestones. Producers meet regularly to discuss the overall workflow for all teams. All work is approved by the Creative Director, with the assistance of the Producer to maintain the project goal.    
Day to Day Breakdown
- Facilitate and maintain the workflow process needed to implement and execute creative projects
- Support the creative team in finding the best solutions to clients’ needs.
- Thoroughly understand and support creative vision per project
- Develop organized, and comprehensive production plans for projects, at all phases 
- Manage all project deadlines to deliver on time
- Clearly scope tasks and allocate resources to ensure that projects are done efficiently
- Direct and lead on-site production.
- Research and prepare thoughtful interview questions & conduct interviews on location.
- Manage & run the overall story
- Identify and manage appropriate external vendors
- Manage budgets by tracking expenses and external costs.
- Support Creative Director to achieve quality assurance on all projects
- Identify and communicate potential pitfalls and changes to scope and provide possible solutions to the team.
- Work with other Producers to develop systems to ensure efficient and effective workflow, agency business management, and ultimately increased creative quality 
Who You Are
– 2-3 years of experience in production, journalism, marketing, or agency work 
- Proven ability in writing, creative writing, story building
- Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills across internal and external teams
- Curious and friendly, comfortable talking to people and gaining your team access on location
- Proven project management and organizational skills
- Exacting attention to detail
