Account Manager

We are adding an Account Manager to our team. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
What does an Account Manager do?
Our work at KERTIS is a balance of thinking & doing. Our creative work is rooted in strategy and executed in-house. Our primary media are documentary & campaign-style video, photography, and design. We do a significant amount of strategic campaign work including brand development and concepting. Account Managers help initiate and support all of these efforts.

Our Account Managers manage the overall client relationship throughout a project. They typically handle multiple accounts, and serve as the primary point of agency contact for their clients, learning all they can about a client's needs and personality to inform a project. While client services are their main focus, they sit between our clients and our internal team and are strong ambassadors for both sides. Their job is to communicate both the good and the bad to a client with tact and diplomacy, answer questions, and make certain they receive what they asked for as part of our contractual agreement.

They facilitate the intake of client requests and develop proposals/estimates for client approval. Our Account Managers have a clear understanding of project expenses and are able to tailor budgets based on the complexity and urgency of the project. They work with the client to gain all of the project information and constraints and then present that information to our internal teams in ways that set us up for success. They ensure that projects meet client goals, creative ideas, and KERTIS standards.

Our Account Managers play a crucial role in client retention as well as potentially bringing in new business as part of an existing client process. 
Day to Day
As work requests come in, Account Managers work with the New Business Team to decide how requests should be pursued. Developing requests into work can take many forms—from large proposals created over several days with client and creative team input to simple estimates created in minutes. Account Managers navigate those varied processes and set the tone for client relationships.

When project plans are approved by the client and internal team, Account Managers help facilitate the project transition to the creative team and transition primary client communications to a Producer. While the Producer may have day-to-day client communications within the project, the Account Manager is always and often reaching out to the client to check on the overall status and guide the relationship.

As the project is in process, Account Managers check-in with Creative Teams on timelines and make sure client communications are consistent. Account Managers provide a comfortable barrier between the nuts & bolts of the project process and the internal process. They ensure a positive client experience from start to finish.  
Day to Day Breakdown
Lead Account Development:

- Act as high-level liaison between client & KERTIS team
- Work closely with Producers to maintain client needs, and keep project budgets in scope
- Represent KERTIS approach to strategic and creative vision, coaching client to understand our 
  process on all projects
- Act as the lead client contact before projects are passed off, and once projects have concluded Help
  ensure client satisfaction
- Attend client meetings and presentations both internally and externally
- Attend Strategy Sessions and work to absorb discussion into project pass offs
- Research and write comprehensive client project proposals & budgets
- Attend/lead regular working meetings with Traffic, Admin, Creative and Accounts.
- Review all materials before they go to clients for approval to ensure that intended goals are met

Support and develop Business Development strategies & tools:

- Develop follow up surveys with clients to catalog success
- Compile and prepare client reports to highlight hits, misses, learning, and next steps; proactively
  identify opportunities to exceed expectations
- Research ongoing industry and brand practices
- Seek opportunities for new business development Identify and build sales tools with business
Who You Are
- 3-5 years experience at a creative, advertising, or marketing agency, or similarly related role
- Proven account management and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to creatively problem-solve for clients, internal teams, and vendors
- Ability to develop, communicate and maintain systems that increase efficiency and provide growth
  opportunities for the agency
- Creative problem solving & critical thinking
- Exacting attention to detail Ability to maintain accurate schedules and budgets
- Diplomatic and supportive team member
- Flexibility to adjust to last-minute schedules and unknowns
- Solid writing and research skills Interest in historical and current trends in
- Community & globally minded
